Totally Reading

If we want children to enjoy reading and writing, then we have to provide activities that will capture their interest and motivate them.  In this workshop, you’ll learn how to replace worksheets with games, books, and activities that will engage students and help them succeed at their own level.

You will learn:

  • Meaningful applications from reading research
  • How to “sing standards”
  • Rhyming and chanting your way to phonological awareness
  • “Fun” phonics
  • Word wall activities
  • Creative ways to enhance fluency
  • Vocabulary builders
  • Comprehension strategies
  • Blank books to reinforce reading and writing skills
  • How to create a literate environment
  • How to plant a “love of reading” in children’s hearts!

You will receive the "Totally Reading" CD with songs that support skills, plus a 120 page handbook of simple and practical activities and patterns.
